Calling All Megatenists!
Looks like Amazon stocked up on some old Megaten games, so the question is...

Should I buy SMT:Nocturne, or Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army?

I keep hearing that Nocturne is very frustrating, while Raidou has a bland story? What do you think?

NOCCCCCCCCCCCCTUUUUUUUUUURNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Do it.

It will make you want to kill things, but it is awesome.

I haven't played the other, but I keep hearing it's just 'mehhhhhh'.

I haven't played Raidou though I hear it has fun gameplay. Nocturne's cool though and the characters are neat. The different endings are a nice feature, too, though you could save yourself somewhat monotonous replays and just YouTube the videos. XD; It is a decent game though not as awesome as some of the other Megaten games I've played but if you like post-apocalyptic craziness set to kickass instrumentals and being able to customize your own party, you'd probably like Nocturne a lot.

Played both myself and I can see where both statements could be true.

That said? Nocturne, hands down. No argument in the two. I agree with the above comment about the music, as well - Nocturne and P3 have my favorite soundtracks of about any MegaTen Game. Yes, it is, in fact, frustrating as all hell to play; but, with 5 possible endings (!) you can get, the hundreds of demons to fuse, and then the added fun junk in New Game+, it's definitely worth it.

Of course, I may or may not be biased by some certain eye candy in the fifth kalpa. Just...just sayin. ;)

LOL. I love how my offhand comment is a deciding factor.

Not that I'm complaining, that is...he's a dick and a half to deal with, though. WHO PUTS ACTION PLATFORMING IN AN RPG HUH ATLUS WTF.

Of course, you do get the added geek factor of, after you encounter him first (via him leaping off of a 60-story building, as he is wont to do) and later can get him in your party...you can return to said building and choose to jump off of it as well.

Everyone in your party is reduced to 1 HP. Dante? Takes no falling damage. I near about died laughing at that. *snickersnort*

SMT: Nocturne.

I watched a friend of mine play it. Just get a strategy guide. There's enough stuff that you can choose or not choose where the strategy guide makes it less annoying, but not boring.
